The story of the restaurant, Splash, was interesting and from a different perspective than most novels of its kind. Rather than the frenzy of the back of the house or the servers viewpoint in the front of the restaurant, it focuses on the management. I came to want to know the characters, but there was a lot of minutia describing their lives that could have - and should have- been omitted. The biggest drawback, to me, was poor proofreading. Words were misused, punctuation was peculiar, and characters were even mixed up several times. Some words, I presume for emphasis, were written in all capital letters leading me to believe this author is a fan of email slang and texting. That has no place in a novel, I believe.Product details

I like the it. i couldn't put it down after I started it.
Just about halfway through it, but so far an enjoyable read.
Splash is a new restaurant in Naples, Florida. It is trendy and expensive, filled with beautiful people spending money on good food and a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant's accountant, Lacey Hannon, is pretty, competent and unapologetically conservative. She lives a life of traditional gender roles, respects authority, and expects others to show the same good manners and decency she practices. Dishonest waiters or bartenders? Lacey doesn't hesitate to get them fired. Lazy managers? She calls them on it. But Lacey finds herself way out of her league when the financial backer turns out to be corrupt beyond anything Lacey has ever known. And, he's dangerous.
